I’m thankful I have to return to work today. I took a few days off to celebrate my birthday this weekend.

Thankfully, I will have something to focus on so that I will not be able to check the news all day every day.

Today’s Wisdom

BEING LOUD IS NOT THE SAME THING AS BEING RIGHT.

The Week

One of the weirdest things about the internet today is that Brands send you emails and tweets wishing you a happy birthday.

Like, thank you jeans for wishing me a happy birthday, but shouldn’t you be focused on treating your workers better?

I make it a point to point out whenever anyone says “Clever, girl.” in a TV or movie.

Inbox, man. Think about your Inbox. Not your email, or RSS, or whatever, but your mental Inbox. Get it out of your head and into a trusted system.
Seesh, you can’t remember all the things.

Me to myself; channeling my inner Merlin Mann voice talking about David Allen.

I pushed a Tonx as one might say for the first time in a few months and, whoa boy, was the coffee way better than the K-cups I’ve been plugging into the Kuerig.

Mariah Carey’s Dreamlover was released in 1993.

Thanks to THE HOOD INTERNET I now remember that I am old.

Overdue for cleaning.

Vinyl Record Speculators

Nick Heer writing about “The Social Network”

I cannot think of a better pairing of score to standalone film in recent memory than the soundtrack to β€œThe Social Network”. It is also a great standalone record. Speculators have pushed up its price for years, but it has just been reissued with its original cover art.

TIL there are vinyl record speculators.

Also, Nick completely forgets about any Chris Nolan film with a Hans Zimmer soundtrack.

Steve Layman shares some “muddle” about complaining when you consult “The Oracle Google” if complaining is good for you.

It reminded me of the phrase

Give me the strength to change the things that I can change. Give me the wisdom to know the things that I can not change.
