Seems to me that Apple wouldn’t be in the middle of a dust up about HKmaps if they were clear and transparant about their app review process.
Why do business in China if this is the type of shit they pull?
Because they have 1 billion people who might buy your product? And that money is worth dealing with the Chinese regime.
That’s no moon.
That’s a space station.
Obi-wan Kenobi.
Obi-wan.
Now that is a name I’ve not heard in a long, long time.
Saw this pair of ravens on the top of a street light while grocery shopping the other day. They seemed to be having a good time hanging out and surveying the parking lot.
Taking this day of rest to enjoy the wonderful Sunday brunch at the Awanhee hotel in Yosemite National Park and watching the excellent 1995 romantic comedy While You Were Sleeping.
I am thankful that I can enjoy these things on this day.
These miniture houses that become life size in photographs by Samy Al Olabi are wonderfully detailed and beautifully staged.
Own your turf, own your turf, own your turf.
Austin Kleon inspired me to request my Twitter archive. We’ll see what I do with it when it comes.
Wisdom of the Day
LIFE IS A CONSTANT CYCLE OF REALIZING HOW DUMB YOU WERE FIVE YEARS AGO.
When did the email newletter signup pop up start happening on every. single. website?
Why do pop ups even exist on websites? Who thought they were a good idea?
Random retorical question:
Why does it seem like there are more articles titled “X movie bombed at the box office and are now cult classics” being written?
Don’t the authors know that is what it means to be a cult classic?
I have plans from the beginning of the year that I just left and did not return to.
I want to be able to say that I worked on something this year, but when I look back on the year there’s just not a lot that I did on my projects. I have a bunch of excuses for why I didn’t work on my projects and they all ring hollow.
I need to reboot and tackle some projects to finish this year strong.
I need to train present me to do what past me planned on future me to do so that present me doesn’t feel like a lazy SOB who doesn’t do anything.
I can plan just fine.
I can do things just fine.
But, doing what I plan is just out of reach.
I don’t get it.
I bought a 27 inch Dell gaming monitor on Amazon Prime day this year and I just go around to setting it up and connecting to my PC and whoa boy I should not have waited because this thing is amazing.
I’ve found that I am constantly looking to upgrade tools for a job that I haven’t decided how I will complete. I am putting the cart before the horse. It’s time to regroup and think and come up with a system that works for me.
The emphasis in the pull quote from John Gruber is the important part, not the Dear Leader quip. Apple gets to bypass tariffs other companies don’t because…why? They’re Apple? He’s Drumpf? Murica?
I love it when artists make something awesome out of something ordinary, like these mountains from books.
Coffee Favorites
#Favorite coffee brew types#
##Upside-down Aeropress## My brew time and process varies from day to day. Generally it is about 2 minutes with 1 or 2 stirrings. I don’t measure my grounds or water but I generally use 3 tablespoons of coffee.
##Chemex## A weekend morning staple. Since I don’t normally brew this way I use this guide from Stumptown Coffee.
##French Press## A beloved favorite that I don’t brew as often as I once did because of the Aeropress and Chemex. When I do use my French Press I generally use 55 grams of coffee and fill it up with hot water and let it brew for 4 minutes after a vigorous aggitation.
##Latte## If I go to a coffee shop this is what I’m getting. It is simple and easy to compare between shops.
##Iced Carmel Macciatto## If it’s a hot day this is the Starbucks drink I’m getting. Of course I have to add a shot or two of espresso.
##Keurig## This is my least favorite, but most used brew and type of coffee. It is the simplest way to make coffee and that simplicity makes sub par coffee. But, the ease of brewing it outways the flavor most mornings.
