Awe, man. You mean I had access to Blades a week before anyone else, but I procrastinated on creating an account so I haven’t tried it yet?

My eternal technology delima

The people who make things that I like use Apple products and make their things for Apple products, but I do not use Apple products.

The kicker is some people talk about how inclusive their things are.

They say the noise causes cancer.

  • Donald Drumpf.

I. I. I just have no words.

Where did figet spinners go?

I remember seeing them everywhere like 6 months ago. Now they’re just … gone?

Man, fads and novelties change so fast now.

Overheard in a YouTube video today:

1998 is a good example of a vintage year.

I’m shacking my head over here. 1998 wasn’t that long ago.

Checks calendar. Oh, it was 20 years ago. Seems like yesterday to me.

When I worked during the day I was thankful when all of the MLB games were night games.

Now that I work during the evening I wish we can go back to the time when all MLB games were day games.

At least it’s baseball season again.⚾

Now is not the time.

When is the time?

How about never? Does never work for you?

It’s 2019 and you still have to have every app that is installedon hyour iOS device on a homescreen? Why? There’s spotlight search to find stuff. Springboard needs to be redone. There should be no reason for folders on your homescreen unless you want tthem on the home screen.

Air Power is dead. Long live Air Power.

Knowing that you want to make changes does not mean that you will make changes.

You have to put in the work to get anything out of it.

Somewhere in the last twenty years I lost my aversion to pop music.

I should know better by now, but I can’t stop myself.

I just have to look at Chromebooks, 2-in-1’s, and laptops even though I do not need to buy anything new.

I call it window shopping. But, now I want to buy something new just because I’ve been looking at devices.

Apple Announces New AirPods Via Press Release

Sure would be neat if there were a single charging pad you could buy to charge your iPhone, AirPods, and even Apple Watch all at once.

There will be John. There will be.

www.apple.com/newsroom/…

Some quick retail pricing math shows AirPods are $129 for the actual buds.

$199 - $$79 = $129

AirPods with a case continue to be $$159. I wonder if Apple will release Airpods without the case so people can replace lost or damaged Airpods but still use their original case.

TouchID is horrible. I do not understand how my fingerprint can change on my work iPhone but not on my personal Pixel. I am so annoyed at this phone right now.

My take on the Spotify/Apple thing

I have not (but probably should) read the whole complaint.

30% revenue from subscriptions for content you do not host is not how Apple should charge Spotify. It would be different if Apple hosted the music that Spotify streams but they do not.

Restrictions on how to inform people about subscription signups outside of the iOS app is anti competitive and petty on Apple’s part.

It is time for Apple to admit that large and small developers are not the same and that there should be different pricing policies for different apps on the iOS app store.

One size fits all is not a very good way to do buisness and for a company that places so much value on quality it is striking that they are willing to allow the quality of their user experience degrade just so they do not have to change some one size fits all policies.

Time to PDCA My Notebooks

I have hit a stumbling block in my notebook use. I do not want to have reduntant information in my analog and digital notebooks, but the whole reason I want a digital notebook is so that I don’t have to carry the analog notebook all the time and the tasks, to do’s, etc will be there for me to check off.

I have to do some more thinking about what I really want because it is obvious that I don’t really know what I want.

It’s time for some PDCA Plan Do Check Adjust

I should have done that in the first place. But, I just jumped to the Do part and didn’t plan anything leaving days and weeks empty in both notebooks.

One reason I use a RSS reader instead of visiting individual websites I can avoid those newsletter signups that pop up.

I use Newsblur as my reader of choice.

Playing Far Cry 5 and I liberated an Outpost but I’m not even sure how.

I drink entirely too much coffee on an empty stomach every morning.

In fact there’s a bunch of stuff I want to change about my routines, especially morning and nightly.
