Why It Doesn’t Seem To Matter That Amazon Will Soon Be The Largest American Clothing Retailer

putthison.com/why-it-do…

How you can compare Amazon competing with Macy’s and Walmart with Mr. Porters? If you’re shopping Mr. Porters you’re not shopping Amazon. The lowest price desert boot on Mr. Porter is $500. That’s not the area Amazon is competing for.

Apple sure does offer consumers a lot of choice: either you buy their stuff, or you don’t.

Sounds more like an ultimatum and not a choice.

The first story and the puns involved are the reason to read Dave Pell. So good.

But if they were iMessages, they couldn’t be intercepted in transit.

I’m sure someone, somewhere has figured out how to intercept end to end encrypted messages and we don’t know about it because they’re not reporting the fact that they can do it.

I finished The Lost World by Michael Crichton last night. It was a fast paced adventure once it got going. Completely different from the movie and so much better. More action, more danger, and none of the taking back dinosaurs and hunting T-rex crap. 📚

I really need to stop looking at phones on Amazon.

I do not need a new phone, my Pixel 2 is alive and kicking and I am still really impressed by it. I just like buying things I don’t need to “try”.

A cheap phone is not a good impulse buy right now.

Countdown to my first MLB game of the year: 45 days ⚾️

Every time my music player of choice starts playing a Free Dominguez song I’m reminded of how much her voice feels me with calm. 🎵

Firewatch for $4.99 on Steam? I really don’t have a reason not to buy it now.

I have an IFTTT recipe that created a note anytime I shared an artile from my RSS reader to Evernote in the belief that I would go back and review them to create more in depth blog posts at some point. I checked today and there were 400 notes in that notebook. I haven’t shared a single one.

This week my digital cleaning will be cleaning up this notebook to find articles that I want to explore further and actually write posts about.

Hey, look at that Google Voice got a redesign. And there’s so much white space.

Today’s lunch was grilled cheese and tomato soup.

What I ate today: Breakfast: Coffee and cinnamon rolls

Lunch: Black Bean & Plantain tacos from Hello Fresh

Dinner: BBQ Turkey sandwiches on homemade bread

Snacks: Popcorn, Smoothie, Yogurt parfait, sourdough pretzels

I felt like I ate all day and I could eat more.

Spent my Saturday evening on the couch watching a truly bad Hallmark Movies & Mysteries movie.

Apple's Privacy Stance is a Business Differentiation

Scarier, to me, is that only Apple has the moral compass and the power to exercise this kind of control over Facebook.

Nick Heer is putting personal feelings onto Apple’s business. He’s not alone either. Many Apple pundits laud Apple’s stance on privacy as the right moral decision taken by the company.

I say it’s not a moral decision made my Apple, but a business decision that happens to align with many people’s current concept of morality of tracking.

I really need to quit reading political stuff because I can’t handle the stupid that is coming from people our president associates with.

An 85 year old woman undergoes surgery in December to remove cancerous growths and their out here saying she’s hiding a secret illness. I. Just. Can’t. With. This. Stupidity.

She LITERALLY told you what is wrong and you’re going to make up a conspiracy theory? Get Out Of My Government And Go Back To Your Prepper Bunker.

Dumbest Take of the Day on the Apple-Facebook Thing

There are pros and cons to Apple’s iron-clad control over native apps on iOS. This incident with Facebook is one of the pros.

This incident just shows that Apple needs to increase their verification of apps if both Google and Facebook can put these apps up AND by pass the normal App Store review.

Awhile ago I saved some old phone commercials to my Watch Later playlist on YouTube and I’m wasting time this morning watching them and oh my god phones used to be so small. The Palm Pre had a 3 inch screen. 3 inches! That’s almost half the size of my Pixel 2.
