A Tale of Two Road Trips
Just for fun. On the subject of how large the United States is, especially after seeing a bunch of social media posts during the World Cup, here is a comparison of two road trips.
Trip One. Starts in Gibralter, Spain and ends in Athens, Greece. Taking a northernly route through France to Slovenia and down through North Macedonia. The trip is 4,422 km long and would take about 43 hours.
Trip Two Starts in Los Angeles, California and ends in New York, New York. Taking a central route through the United States through New Mexico to Oklahoma and through Indiana and Ohio. The trip is 4,467 km (2,276 miles) long and would take about 41 hours.
Trip One goes through 8 countries. Starts at lattitude 36°N and ends at lattitude 38°N Trip Two goes through 11 states. Starts at lattitude 34° N and ends at lattitude 40°N
